Triad Tactics

ARMA REFORGER SERVER

How to start playing

This guide will walk you through the process of joining the Triad Tactics project — from submitting your application to playing your first mission

Step 1. Sign in and apply

To get started, you need to own Arma Reforger on Steam. Visit the Triad Tactics website and sign in with your Steam account. After signing in, you will be directed to the application form

  • Your Steam profile and game details must be set to public, and Arma Reforger must be visible on your profile
  • Fill out all required fields carefully. Pay special attention to the gaming experience and motivation questions — admins evaluate applications based on them
  • Your callsign must be unique, 1-12 characters, using only letters, numbers, and underscores
  • You must be 18 or older to apply
  • This is an application to access the Triad Tactics project, not to join the Triad Team unit

Step 2. Wait for review

After submitting your application, an admin will review it. This process can take some time — please be patient, it may take a few days. You will receive an email notification once your application is approved. After approval, sign in again to access the full website

Step 3. Read the rules

Before your first game, make sure to read the community rules. They cover conduct expectations, slotting procedures, and in-game behavior. Understanding the rules will help you have a better experience and avoid misunderstandings

Step 4. Wait for a mission

Missions are published on the Games page. Only one mission is available at a time. When a new mission is published, you will see it on the main page. Check the website regularly or follow announcements in our Discord and Telegram channels

How missions work

A mission is a pre-prepared set of episodes created by the administrators. They are connected by a shared theme, structure, and sequence

A mission usually consists of several episodes, which take place one after another

The duration of a mission is approximately 4 hours, while a single episode lasts on average from 1 to 1.5 hours

Game modes

Missions can operate in one of two game modes:

  • Standard — the full gameplay experience with unit slotting, priority phases, and multi-episode management. Units claim slots on the slotting board, followed by priority and regular access phases. This is the default mode for most missions
  • Simplified — a streamlined mode where there are no unit or priority phases. All players join the mission through the Join mission button and receive the gameplay password when it is published on the mission page. Simplified mode is used for smaller or more casual sessions

The game mode is shown on the mission page next to the mission status

Player categories

There are three categories of players in each mission:

  • Unit players — members of official Triad Tactics units that have allocated slots for the mission. Unit leaders and deputies claim slots for their unit directly on the slotting board. Once the gameplay password is released for units, all members of units with allocated slots see it directly on the mission page — there is no need to request it from a leader. Units without allocated slots (e.g. new units) participate as regular or priority players
  • Priority players — players who earned a special badge through contributions like server testing or event support. After unit slotting closes, unclaimed slots are automatically split between priority and regular access. Priority players can claim any open priority slot on the slotting board
  • Regular players — everyone else, including members of units without allocated slots. Regular players join the mission through the Join mission button. Being on the list does not guarantee a slot, but when admins release regular access, everyone on the list receives the gameplay password

Slotting board

The slotting board section below describes the Standard mode workflow. In Simplified mode, there is no slotting board — all players join through the Join mission button

After a mission is published, the slotting board opens for unit leaders and deputies to claim slots for their units. Each unit is assigned to a side according to the rotation schedule. Leaders and deputies can claim any available slot on their assigned side, up to their unit's allocated slot count

When a mission has multiple episodes, slotting is managed independently for each episode. Unit leaders, deputies, and priority players select an episode tab and claim slots for that specific episode. You do not need to claim slots in every episode — it is enough to participate in the episodes you want to play

The priority phase is the next stage after unit slotting. It opens either at a scheduled time set by the admin or when the admin manually activates it. When the priority phase opens, unclaimed unit slots are automatically converted to priority and regular access (approximately 2:1 ratio). Priority players can then claim open priority slots

  • If you are a leader or deputy of a unit with allocated slots, claim slots for your unit on your assigned side. In multi-episode missions, claim slots for each episode your unit wants to participate in
  • If you are a member of a unit with allocated slots, wait for your leader or deputy to claim slots — the gameplay password will appear on the mission page for you automatically
  • If you have a priority badge, wait for the priority phase to open, then claim an open priority slot. In multi-episode missions, claim a slot for each episode you want to play
  • If you are a regular player or a member of a unit without allocated slots, press Join mission to add your callsign to the regular list. This is a single action — you do not need to join each episode separately

Passwords and connecting

There are two passwords for each mission:

  • Mod-download password — released first so all approved players can download the required mods
  • Gameplay password — released closer to game time in stages: first for unit members (all members of units with allocated slots see it directly on the mission page), then for priority players who claimed a slot, then for regular players who joined the list

Passwords appear in the Server section of the mission page when they become available for your category. You do not need to ask anyone for the password — it shows up automatically. Server passwords are confidential — sharing them with unauthorized people is forbidden

Getting help on the mission page

Each mission page has a Help button that opens a detailed guide about how the mission page works, player categories, the slotting board, and password distribution
